youth & children's Ministry

Minister Latoya L. Brown
Youth & Children's Ministry Leader

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)

Youth and Children’s Ministry is one of the most important ministries in the church, and we have a responsibility to train them in the way that they should go (Proverb 22:6).

Our belief is that we have to stop telling our young people that they are “the future.” It’s as if we’re suggesting that they don’t have to serve the Lord now, and they should wait until later. But rather, our children are “The Right Now Church” along-side us, and they shouldn’t wait, nor do they have to wait until later to be a part of the body of Christ. The Children and Youth Ministry is compiled with several units to assist in teaching and nurturing the "right now" church.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to introduce children to Jesus Christ in a manner that will transform their lives through prayer and a solid foundation built on Biblical truths in order for them to have an understanding of Christ that will cause them to develop and build a personal relationship with Christ.
Vision Statement
Our Children's Ministry is the vehicle in which we use to teach the vision and the word spoken at New Life Baptist Church, at an age-appropriate level for children ages 3-12. Our purpose is to instill the character, Biblical foundations and principles of Christ into the hearts and minds of all children.

Back 2 School
Strive to reach our community through programs such our give away where annually we are able to assist over 300 kids with school supplies, haircuts, clothes etc. The Giveaway strives to bring together as many people and resources possible in one location so families with school age children can receive every resource possible as they prepare for another school year. We have raised our goal in 2020 to not only service North Thurston school district , but Tumwater and Olympia school district as well.

Hallelujah Night
On the night of October 31st, which is traditionally celebrated as “Halloween.” For Christians, however, there may be many reasons why we wouldn’t “celebrate” Halloween as a holiday. Whether you celebrate Halloween or not, Christian children should have an opportunity to have safe, godly fun! As Christians, we have much to “celebrate” so we make Hallelujah Night a fun adventure where thousands of children see the goodness of God through this event.

AWANA
Awakening a workman not ashamed .For over six decades, the Lord has used the ministry of Awana to reach kids, equip leaders, and change the world. The unchanging truth of the gospel drives the same vision we’ve held all these years to reach children in every corner of the globe as we walk boldly into the future and continue to be used by God to help change the world.

Minister Daniel Johnson

Juvenile Detention Center
Most young people locked up are there for a reason: They did the crime and are doing the time. Hitting rock bottom is what prods many offenders to take an honest look at their lives and cry out to God for mercy. And God is ready to give it. A person’s past does not have to dictate his future. Even a former delinquent, if he has learned from his mistakes and renounced his sins, can become a great leader in God’s hands.
